Transport Mechanism in Plasma Membrane
There Are 2 Mechanism in nutrition transport. there are Passive Transport and Active Transport
1) Passive Transport
Passive Transport is a ion transport, melecule, and compound that didn't need energy to pass the Plasma Membrane. Passive Transport divided to 2 kinds. There Are Osmosis and diffusion.
a) Diffusion
Diffusion itself was divided into 2 kinds. There are Diffusion facilitated by protein channel and Diffusion Facilitated by Carrier Protein.
- Diffusion facilitated by protein channel
The Substance like amino acid, sugar and ion susbstance can't diffuse through the Plasma membrane. Those Substance through pass the Plasma Membrane by the protein channel. Protein channel is produce by Integral Protein. The example is in the picture below.
-Diffusion facilitated by Carrier Protein
This diffusion process involve the protein and the protein make a channel and bind the transported substance. The example is in the picture below.
b) Osmosis
Osmosis is a displacement of the solvent (ex. Water etc) throught Selective Permeable Membrane from hipotonic condition to hiperonic condition. Water didn't use energy for through pass the membrane so water can pass easily to the cell. But Cell can manage how much solvent that it need. Because of this charateristic, if an animal cell is put in the hipotonic solution, the cell wil be lysis (broken and die). But if a plant cell is put in the hipotonic soultion, the cell will be in the state of Turgid. Hereby the picture about Osmosis in the cell.
2) Active Transport
Active Transport is an transport of molecule from one side of membrane to another side of membrane that need energy from ATP (Adenosine Tryphospate). Active transport very useful to carry big molecule to the cell. Active Transport work against Gradient Concenration. that's mean Molecule Transport happen from the low concentration towards to the higher concentration. Active Transport divided to 3 kinds. There are Ion Pump, Co-transport and Endocytosis end Exocytosis.
a) Ion pump
Every cell must be have energy difference from the surounding, called Membrane Potential. Membrane Potential act as a baterry. As an example there is different Concentration of Pottasium and Sodium. Hereby the picture of Ion Pump process.
b) Co-transport
Co-transport is a susbstance transport that activated another susbstance Transport. Co-transport involved two Protein Membrane. Example is the plant cell pump hydrogen ion for activating Sucrose transport to the cell. Hereby the picture of the Co-transport Process.
c) Endocytosis and Exocytosis
Endocytosis and Exocytosis is a macromolecule transport as example is Protein, Polysaccharide, or Nuclei Acid. When Endocytosis, Plasma Membrane surround the Macromelecule outside from the cell then fold to Vesicle. The Vesicle through the cell together with the macromolecule. When Exocytosis, Vesicle join the Plasma Membrane and release the macromolecule from the vesicle. Hereby the picture of the Endocytosis and Exocytosis process.
Okay, That's all of the cell. I give you chance to request what study topic that you admire about Biology, Chemistry, and Computer Information. Just Comment with format like This :
Full Name/ Study Topic/ Chapter/ Your Reason. Ex : Aditya Parawangsa/Biology/ The Activity of the Cell/For the task.
Also, i gonna give you know that i will post the study topic in Indonesian if the most requester come from Indonesian.
I will choose 3 top request for be posted on my blog. The request end at 27 July. So Be sure for request, and don't forget to Follow and Subscribe!!! Thanks!!!
